LESSSON OUTLINE :
Activity 1  What's in the Title?
1.      Guide students to talk about the title, "Fit As A Fiddle".
2.      Ask the following questions:
◦  What does the word “fit” mean?
◦  What does “fit as a fiddle” mean?
◦  Why do we need to keep fit?

Activity 2  Keeping Fit
1.      Draw students' attention to the activities on the page.
2.      Asks students the following questions:
     What do you see on this picture?
     What are the activities that you see?

Activity 3 What I like
1.      Guide students' to talk about the physical activities that they like.
2.      Teacher asks the following questions:
•       What is the game that you like?
•       Why do you like this game?
3.      Teacher talks about a game that he/she likes to guide students to talk.
Example:
I like badminton.  I like badminton because it is interesting.

LESSSON OUTLINE :
Activity 1  Having Fun
1.      Get students to look at the games and exercises on the page.
2.      Teacher asks the following questions:
•       What do you see on this picture?
•       What are the activities that you see?
Suggested activities:
1.      Ask students to name other activities they do in a week.
Example: playing futsal, playing golf, playing squash, etc.

Activity 2  Things We Like
1.      Play the Audio-Video DVD to allow students to listen to and practise saying aloud the games and actiities.
2.      Pause after each activity to allow all students to internalise the targeted vocabulary.
3.      Ensure that all students participate actively.  Replay if necessary.

Activity 3  Everyday I ...
1.      Get students to look at the pictures again.
2.      Ask students the following questions:
•       What are the activities that you like to do?
•       When do you carry out these activities?
•       Where do you carry out these activities?.

1.              To learn sentence patterns used for showing preferences
2.              To practise using the sentence patterns
DURATION : 80 MINUTES
LESSSON OUTLINE :
Activity 1  Hear! Hear! (B5DL1E1)
Part 1
1.      Draw students' attention to the picture.
2.      Get all students to predict what the video is about by asking the following questions:
•       What do you see on this page?
•       What do you think this video is about?
3.      Play the audio-video DVD.  Get students to watch the video.  Pause along the way to ask the questions below.
4.      At every pause, teacher initiates discussion. The discussion is to help students to see and be made aware of the sentence patterns.
Ask the following questions:
•       What is the game they are talking about?
•       Where do you think they are?
•       Do you think skate-boarding is dangerous? Why?
•       Can you tell me other games/activities that you think are dangerous?
5.      Get students to talk about the event that they have just seen on the Audio-Video DVD.

Extended activity:
Ask students to say how they can protect themselves when they play games. (Accept any possible answers.)

Activity 2  Excuse me, please
Play Part 2 of the video (The Interview)
1.      Students listen to the interview. Tell students they are going to role-play after watching the video.
2.      Divide students into groups.  Each group is given the role of either an interviewer or interviewee.
3.      Tell students that they are to work as a team. They have to focus on the language used by the person they are role modelling.
4.      Students work in groups of five. They listen to the structures for both characters carefully.
5.      Note:  students are not allowed to write or jot down the information they bear.
Examples of questions:
     What is …
     Can I have …
     Do you …
     Which part of ...
6.      Replay the video when necessary.
7.      Role Play.  In groups, students take turns to ask questions and the students in the other group respond.
8.      Ensure that all students participate actively.

LESSSON OUTLINE :
Activity 1  Look and Say
1.      Draw students' attention to the picture.
2.      Ask students the following questions:
     What do you see in the picture?
     What are the people doing?
     Can you tell me the activities that you se in the picture?
3.      Get students to work in pairs.  Students look at the picture and say what they would like to do in the park with their families/friends.
4.      Invite all students to share with the class the choices they have made. They give reasons for their choices.

Activity 2  Gather and Report
1.             Get students to talk to their friends and ask them what they do/would like to do at the park.  Students are not allowed to write down any of the information.
2.      Invite all students to share their findings with the class.
Suggested Activities:
•       Ask students to find pictures on other activities/games they like and tell the class what these activities are.
•       Divide students into groups. Ask students to choose a game and tell the class how to play it.
•              Ask students to go online and find out about unusual games/activities people play/do to keep fit.  For example, yoga, silat, playing wau, etc. They download the pictures and tell the class some unusual ways people keep fit.

3.      Guide students to ask the following questins to elicit responses during the sharing session.
Suggested questions:
•       What is your favourite sport?
•       How many times do you practice in a week?
•       How long do you need to practice?
•       Who do you practice with?

Activity 1 Work It Out!
1.      Draw students' attention to the picture.
2.      Ask the following questions:
•       What do you see in the picture?
•       What are they doing?
3.      Tell students they are going to make a poster to show what it takes to become a winner in a game/sport.
4.      Get students to work in groups of five and plan their presentations.
The following must be in their presentations.
•       Choice of game/sport
•       A slogan
•       Physical activities to keep fit for this game
•       People involved in training
•       Types of food to eat to stay fit.
5.      All aspects of the poster must be represented in pictorial form.
6.      Remind students that they should not write or read from the scripts when they stage their presentations.

Activity 2  Our Plan!
1.      Students present their plans on how to become a winner in the selected game/sport.
2.      Encourage students to ask questions during the presentations.
Suggested questions:
•       What is your choice of game/sport?
•       Why did your group choose this game/sport?
•       What kinds of physical activities do we need to do during training sessions?
•       What types of food must we eat to stay fit and win in this game/sport?
3.      Students vote on the best presentation and give reasons for their choice.
4.      Ensure every group member gets the opportunity to share one aspect of the poster during the presentaion.
