DURATION : 40 MINUTES
LESSSON OUTLINE :
Activity 1  What's in the Title?
1.      Guide all students to talk about the title, 'Look Good, Feel Good'.
2.      Ask the following questions:
◦  What do you think 'Look Good' means?
◦  What do you think 'Feel Good' means?
◦  What does the title, 'Look Good, Feel Good' mean to you?

Activity 2  What's Your Choice?
1.      Get students to look at the four pictures and ask the following questions:
     What do you see on this page?
     Which boy looks neat? Why?
     What do you think of the boy in Picture B?
     Which girl looks tidy? Why?
     What do you think of the girl in Picture C?
     Which of these students would you like to be? Why?

Activity 3  Neat and Tidy
1.      Draw students' attention to the four pictures again.
2.      Ask students the following questions
•       Do you think you look neat and tidy when you come to school?
•       Why do you think we must look neat and tidy?
This is a lead-in activity which initiates conversation about the topic for this unit.

Note: For the above questions, teacher accepts all possible answers and expands on students' answers.

DURATION : 40 MINUTES
LESSSON OUTLINE :
Activity 1  Tell me!
1.      Get students to look at the pictures.
2.      Ask the following questions:
◦  What do you see in the pictures?
◦  Who are the people in the pictures?
◦  Why do you need to see a dentist?
◦  Why would a person go to see a skin specialist?
◦  What is the difference between a barber and hair stylist?

Activity 2  Listen and Say Aloud
1.      Play the Audio-Video DVD to allow students to listen to and practise saying aloud the targeted vocabulary.
2.      Pause after each item to allow students to internalise the targeted vocabulary.
3.      Ensure that all students participate actively.
4.      Replay if necessary.

Activity 3  Categorize Me
1.      Tell students that they are going to play a vocabulary game.
2.      Explain the rules of the games to the students.
Step 1:      Divide students into groups of four.
Step 2:      Inform students there are four categories:
Barber, Hair Stylist, Skin Specialist and Dentist.
Step 3:      Students listen to the audio. Teacher chooses a word.  Students name the occupations and the tools used for the occupation.
Example:  Hair stylist – place of work – hair salon. Tools he uses – hair dryer, shears
Step 4:      Teacher repeats this process for all the words. The group that scores the highest marks wins the game

1.              To learn sentence patterns with adverbs of manner to show how actions were done.
2.              To practise using the sentence patterns used for taking care of one's personal hygiene.
DURATION : 80 MINUTES
LESSSON OUTLINE :
Activity 1  Can I Help You?
Part A
1.      Draw students' attention to the pictures.
2.      Get all students to predict what the video is about by asking the following questions:
◦  What do you see in the pictures?
◦  What problem is the boy facing?
◦  What products do you think he's going to buy at the shop?
3.      Play the audio-video DVD.  Get students to watch the video.

Activity 2  Pause and Practise (Part A)
1.      Play the audio-video DVD and pause at the following sentence patterns:
•       Wash your hands properly with soap and towel dry them.
•       Carefully squeeze a small amount of the cleanser onto your palm.
•       Add a few drops of water slowly and rub until it becomes foamy.
•       Quickly apply the foam on your face and rub gently for one minute.
•       Now you can apply the cream on your face evenly.
2.      At every pause, teacher initiates discussion. The discussion is to help students see and be made aware of the sentence patterns.
3.      Get students to respond and retell the situations in the video at the pauses selected to encourage the use of the sentence patterns.
4.      Ensure that all students participate actively.  Replay and pause if necessary.

Activity 3  Pause and Practise (Part B)
1.      Play Part B of the Audio-Video DVD.
2.      Get students to retell what they've heard from the video on how to clean their faces.
3.      Ensure students to participate actively.  Replay and pause if necessary

2.      Students carry out the interview to find more information on:

•       the types of products they use to keep clean and healthy
3.      Divide students into groups.  Students share the information with their groups.
4.      Invite a few students to share with the class.

•       Natural remedies
3.             Get students to prepare a chart by giving the dos and don'ts to help resolve the issue. They use illustrations and pictures to present their ideas.

LESSSON OUTLINE :
Activity 1  Let's Promote
1.      Draw students' attention to the picture.
2.      Ask the following questions to elicit responses from students.
•       What do you see in the picture?
•       What are the students doing?
3.      Teacher asks students to work in groups of five.
4.      Tell students that they are going to plan a poster to promote caring for one's healthy or personal hygiene.
For example:
•       How to keep your hair clean
•       How to wash your hands
•       How to take care of your teeth
•       How to take care of your nails
5.      The poster must include the following:
•       A creative title
•       A jingle / slogan /song
•       Clear illustrations / graphics to depict the steps
•       Trigger words (where necessary)
6.      Students work in groups to complete the activity.

Activity 2  Let's Present!
1.      Invite every group to present and share their ideas in small groups.
2.      Get students to vote for the best presentation and give reasons for their choice.
3.      Ensure all groups get the opportunity to share their presentations.
4.             Remind students to plan for each member of the group to share during the presentation.  Marks will be awarded for teamwork and also opportunity given for all members to present.
5.      The best group will then present in front of the class.
